Castaria

Vineyard Elegance, Duelist Courts, and the Art of Refinement

Castaria is a compact aristocratic kingdom nestled between the Firanoran Confederation and the Estwarin Sea — a patchwork of vineyard hills, fortified cliff-towns, coastal estates, and duelling courts. Despite its small size, Castaria’s cultural influence far exceeds its borders. Its noble etiquette, fencing traditions, and artistic refinement ripple across Tyrmire.

Castarian cuisine is defined by three principles: precision in preparation, beauty in presentation, and balance in flavour. Every dish is an extension of the duelist’s philosophy — economy of motion, elegance of form, perfect timing. Food here is never rushed, never excessive, never crude. Even simple meals are plated with artistic care. Wine is not merely a beverage but a cooking ingredient, a flavour enhancer, and a social ritual — and the cycle of the vine structures the Castarian year.

“Castarian cooks value ingredients that speak for themselves — requiring skill to prepare, but never skill to disguise.”

This is Chapter 2 of The Kurillian Table. New chapters are published every few days — return to the full cookbook to follow along.

The Firanoran Confederation is next — storm-charred steak over open coals, barley hearth stew, plainsrun energy flatbread, and spiced mead passed hand to hand around a clan fire.
